The Artist Mrs. Todorka Glavcheva was born in Bulgaria, in the luxuriant Thracian land of Debbur, Plovdiv region, in 1948.

The gifts of nature in her childhood together with the spirit of her family helped her develop a keen eye and an aspiration for artistic growth. Later, an important influence in this relation was Prof. Ivan Petrov, who moulded her artistic characteristics and helped her determine her artistic quests in the realistic style of expression.
Until 1994 she participated in joint exhibitions, after which she started making her own artistic presentations. She is a member of the Kremikovtsi Artistic Society within the Union of Bulgarian Artists.

Most of her works are oil paintings – still life, landscapes and portraits. They impress with a strong sensation of substance pervaded by the poetry of air and light. The crisp color and convincing hues and lines gradate into a firm unity where solemn tones of light contrast with the deep dark spaces in the background and come to life within the massive compactness of the composition. The combinations of expressive means she uses produce a lasting effect enhanced by the association with the in transient artistic creations. Beyond the visible, the beholder finds himself enchanted by the spiritual dimension crated by the artist’s aspiration to endorse the in transience of beauty and harmony and their powerful impact.

The expressive style and the fine execution are the reason for the high esteem Todorka Glavcheva’s creations are held in. Some of her works are stored in art galleries throughout Bulgaria, and others – in private collections in Greece, Hungary, Spain, France, Poland, Bulgaria and other countries.
